Blogger's Give Away!!! Come join the Fun!

Bloggy Giveaways Quarterly Carnival Button
I found out about this over at Cameragirl's blog. I thought that this was really neat, especially since I haven't been online much. The Carnival ends August the 1st.
So, here is your chance to win at 2 give aways. (Sounds great uh?) It is!

I know not all my friends here in blog land believe the same as I do and that is okay! But I don't want it to stop from getting this beautiful little pretty from me. I would like to give away a Willow Tree Praying Angel. This way you will always know that Kitten is always praying or thinking of you.
Okay! The one that gets the most answers out of my five will win. I will announce the winner Saturday. (I may not post again until then, but will be checking in on answers and trying to visit. )
Here is my questions:
1) What is my favorite color?
2) What is my favorite pass time? (When I'm not over whelmed with my mom.)
3) How many children do I have?
4) What is my favorite animal?
5) What is my favorite drink?
Hope you all have fun! (What do we do if we have a tie? Mmmm! I'll have to think on that one because I only have one. LOL! I would love to be able to give to all that answers, but not able to do that.) Still hope you have fun!

I think my flower is a Spider Flower, not Granpa Whiskers

Cleome gets it's nickname "Spider Flower" from the spidery-like flowers with long, waving stamen which are held on tall, strong leafy stems. It is one of the few annuals that looks at home among shrubs and perennials. Planted in mass, they look like blooming shrubbery with 8-inch balls of blossoms. They will reach a height of 6 feet in a good season. Violet Queen (pictured), Cherry Queen, Pink Queen and Helen Campbell (white) are among the most popular cultivars.
Start seeds indoors four weeks before the last frost or plant them directly outdoors in spring after danger of frost has passed. Germination takes about 10 days. Space the plants about 1 foot apart. They will often reseed themselves. The seeds will lie dormant until spring. Hybrids will not breed true.
Cleome tolerates heat and dry weather well, and continue to look good well into the summer. Lower leaves tend to fall at the end of summer, and this can be covered by companion plants.
They make excellent cut flowers if conditioned by soaking them in very warm water, but their musky scent is sometimes not pleasant. For the same reason, you may not want to plant them near windows and doors.
Staking is usually not necessary, and they are not bothered by pests and disease. Protection from strong winds is advisable. They are a favorite of hummingbirds.
What do you think?

My garden and little pretties

This year we wasn't able to plant as much as we did last year, but we still have enough of what we have planted to put up for the winter, unlike last year. Instead of planting a lot of different stuff in one small area, we planted more of the same thing in our little area. We were going to put our peas and beans down at pops, but because of me having to spend so much time with momma and gas prices, we just decided to wait and make another spot in our yard next year for that and buy them in bulk. I guess you can say that is one disadvantage of living in the city part instead of the country part. LOL!

I was told these are Grandpa Whiskers, but was not able to find them on the web. (Under grandpa whiskers, I kept finding day lilies. As you can tell these are not day lilies.) They are very pretty and very easy to grow. Which is a plus for me this year. Let me just tell you how easy: Dan's dad gave them to us dead. He said they might come back next year. Mmmmmmm. In 2 weeks they are blooming like crazy! Then somebody stomped everyone down except the one that is hanging off to the side. Two weeks later they are all back prettier than ever. You can't get much easier than that. LOL!
If anyone knows what these little pretties are, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!

A little get away

Last week end we went to Geyser Falls. We had a lot of fun, but didn't seem last long enough. LOL! (Sorry no pictures, I forgot and left the camera in the van.)
Just to come home and find that momma's swelling is worse. She is swelling in her chest and feet. Her breathing isn't much better either. I'm not complaining, but it is so hard to watch my mom suffer so much. This is surely not how I had imagined her last days. She has worked so hard her whole life and raised 4 kids by herself. I imagined her being able to enjoy her golden years and working her flower beds. It just don't seem fair.
Take care!

My computer has been down

I have been about to have a dieing duck! I have called for almost a week before I could get my Internet server out here. I would call and after an hour on the phone, they would say I needed a service call because my cable modem was froze up. The next day nobody would show. (((SIGH))) Then I would call and someone else would say they took my order off for a service call because it showed on their end that I had Internet. (((SIGH))) I had to get RUDE before I got their attention. Gosh this aggravates the mess out me! Well, that's why I haven't been online.I'll catch up or at least try tomorrow.

NickelBack - How you remind me Piano Arrangement

I really love this song, even it don't fit the reason why I'm posting it, it fits me. My Uncle Buddy passed away yesterday. He was my mom's last living sibling. I'm having a very hard time dealing. I know I LOVED him very much, but I think with everything going on, it just made it a little harder to deal.
If you don't mind, keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you~

A little glimpse into our Summer

This past May, our niece and a little guy from our church graduated. KB and me didn't get to their graduation till the very end, but we were still able have a little fun and CAKE!

One good thing about this summer, is Dan has got to spend more time with kids. As you can tell they all have had a great time! (Even our neighbor and nephews!)

June 2nd was Dan's Birthday. This was the 1st time in 16 years I bought a cake instead of making one. My kids were a little jealous, but trust me, this cake didn't get ate like the ones I make. LOL! I was crunched for time so we bought it. Not sure if we will do the same for the kids or not, but trust me if I don't have more time when their birthdays come I may have to.

This is only some of Maw's grand kids, great grands and great great grands. (Dan's grandmother) On the 4th of July Maw has her family reunion. We had a Great time.
Here is Dan's grandmother (Maw) and his mom.
This is all 3 of Maw's kids
Our Eli had to show me his dragon. LOL! He loves dragons.

I'm not dead....

Just so busy. I'm sorry I haven't had time to come and post or visit. I do want to thank those who have sent me an email to check on me and the one's who have commented on my last post. My mother has been more demanding of me; it's not that she is worse: I'm not sure what you would call it. She was doing very well. She had even drove herself to church and just seem to have a complete turn around, then she’s back down where she can’t give herself a bath. I don’t think it’s all her health, I think it’s more mental. We had been putting off her Last Will of Testament and her Living Will and I told her we needed to get it done, because we needed to get it signed while my little brother was off for vacation and I knew it would take a while to get it done. She went off on me! I found out then that my oldest niece had been hounding momma about what all she was going to get of mother’s. I reassured momma that I wasn’t trying to push her in her grave and I was having a hard time with it also. She got to acting a little better and I was able to go through most of her house; like she wanted and get all the legal stuff wrote up. I also was able to clean a bunch of junk out of her house. On top of dealing with momma, since my brothers don’t seem to know how to take turns, and dealing with my kids; my husband decided to let his real self show. He decided to be the biggest BUTT on the PLANET! So, not only have I been running so fast that I can’t catch up with myself; I haven’t had anything good to say. (Momma always said if you have nothing good to say; say nothing at all! LOL!) Dan Dan has decided that he picked the wrong time to mess with me and has decided to be really sweet. Not this week end, but the two before, he took the kids and I camping and swimming. I really needed that time out, but momma’s demanding didn’t slow down. I’m not really sure what this week holds and I hope momma will calm down a bit since we finally got all the legal stuff behind us.
I can’t promise I will be able to be online much to post or visit, but I really hope I do. I’m a little worried about what this school year is going to bring. I had to stop our schooling short last year and have never picked back up yet. With everything going the way it has, I went ahead and signed my middle child back in public school. (He wants to play football.) Even thou I wasn’t all that happy with it, I thought it may be best. Now, I’m worried about the other 2. Maybe momma will stop being so demanding of me, and we can work something out about schooling.
I hope to see you all more often and hope all is well!
Take care!
